Meet Eva!
Holistic Resources has a new logo! The butterfly is symbolic of many things related to mental health, including the process of transformation we undergo as we grow in our mental and emotional resilience. They are also a symbol of spiritual connection and growth, the ability for our spirit to gain mastery over our mind and body, which we believe is vital to the healing process. In many cultures, butterflies also represent the spirits of those who have departed this earthly plane, and many people find comfort in believing their loved ones can still “visit” them in the form of a butterfly.
- Notice how Eva has 3 sections to her body. These represent the 3 systems that impact our overall health and wellbeing: the body, mind, and spirit. This represents our core value of holistic health, which we strive to encompass into all of our services.
- See the design on the wings? If you look closely, you’ll notice they look just like the “wrinkles” in the human brain. The raised folds are called “gyri” and the indented creases are called “sulci.” These folds are designed to increase the surface area of the brain, which then allows for more neuronal pathways and connections to be formed within a smaller area. These folds are crucial to brain development and functioning.
- Notice how the color of the butterfly has an ombre style to it. This is to symbolize the journey toward growing away from rigid/black and white thinking and other cognitive/emotional distortions that keep us “stuck.” and into a state of mind embodied by flexibility and fluidity— a representation of the DBT term of “Wise Mind,” coined by Marsha Linnehan, the founder of DBT.
